Trump to set up a working group for Olympics 2028 in Los Angeles

President Donald Trump set up a working group for the 2028 Olympics, which is being held in Los Angeles.

Trump will sign an executive order on Tuesday to make the official official, the White House said.

Trump said the Los Angeles Summer Games are among the events he is most looking forward to in his second term. The 2028 games will be the first Olympics to host the US after the 2002 winter games in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Trump “considers it a great honor to watch this global sports performance,” the White House press center said in a statement, Carolyn Levit, calling Sport one of the “president’s most big passions.”

LA28 president and chairman Casey Wasserman said the Working Group “marks an important step forward in our efforts to plan and reflect our shared commitment to achieve not only the largest but also the largest games the world ever seen in the summer of 2028.”
