The US has a “very, very good plan” to end the Gaza War, the Messenger tells hostage families

President of US President Donald Trump in the Middle East told families of hostages held by the Palestinian military Hamas group on Saturday that he was working with the Israeli government as a plan that would effectively put an end to the Gaza war.

Trump made the termination of the conflict a major priority of its administration, although the negotiations were decomposed. Steve Vikof visits Israel as her government is facing increasing pressure on worsening humanitarian conditions in the enclave.

In a recording of the meeting, reviewed by Reuters, Viton heard, saying, “We have a very, very good plan we work collectively with the Israeli government, with Prime Minister Netanyahu … for the restoration of gas. This effectively means the end of the war.”

The White House did not immediately answer a request for comment on his remarks.

Vitcof also said that Hamas was ready to disarm to end the war, although the group had repeatedly said he would not put his weapons.

In response to the reported remarks, Hamas, who has dominated Gaza since 2007 but was military -battered by Israel in the war, said he would not abandon the “armed resistance” unless a “independent, fully sovereign Palestinian state was created with Jerusalem”.

Indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel, aimed at providing a 60-day cessation of fire in the war in Gaza and a deal to release half of the hostages, ended last week in a stalemate.

On Saturday, Hamas released his second video in two days by Israeli hostage Eviatar David. In it, David, a skeleton slim, is shown to dig a hole that, according to him, is for his grave.

Vitcof met Netanyahu on Thursday.

A senior Israeli official said that an understanding was emerging between Israel and Washington, that it was necessary to move from a plan to release some of the hostages to the release of all hostages, disarming Hamas and demilitarization of the Gaza Strip, echoing Israel’s key demands.
