Suspect Stalker planted and killed 3 Pennsylvania employees, the prosecutor says

Suspect Stalker, armed with a rifle hidden in his ex -girlfriend’s home in the southern Pennsylvania’s movable land and planted police officers who came to arrest him, killing three of them, a prosecutor said on Thursday

Police arriving at the scene at about 2:10 pm Wednesday noticed that the door to the home was unlocked, although her ex -girlfriend and her mother had locked her before leaving the property for their safety.

They opened the door and were immediately fired by suspects, 24-year-old Matthew James Ruth, who wore an AR-style rifle with suppression, said York Tim Barker County.

He said the suspect had fired several rounds of the four officers at the door, killing three of them.

Then there was a shooting between Ruth and two officers outside.

Ruth wounds a sheriff’s deputy before police shoot the arms to death, Barker said.

One of the wounded officers also belongs to the North York Department. Authorities have not identified the affiliation of the department of the second employee who is hospitalized.

Investigators later found that the ex-girlfriend’s dog was shot in the basement.

The woman’s mother called the police on Tuesday

The neighboring departments withdrew on Thursday to help take the load while the agency’s employees were mourned.

Violence broke out on Wednesday afternoon when the officers sought Ruth, which they believed was in the property the night before.

A woman he was to meet there for a short while. Her mother called the police late Tuesday after noticing a man carrying a camouflage looking at the home with binoculars.

Employees also talked to the daughter, who had a photo from a trail camera showing that someone wears a rifle outside and directing the house, according to a police declaration.

Ruth escaped the police that evening, making them return the next day with orders for violations of his arrest.

The young woman’s car was set on fire in August and she said she suspected she could have participated.

Investigators have twice visited Ruth’s home in Hanover, about 16 kilometers away, where officers were killed, said neighbor Rose Miller. They arrived around noon first, she said, and then again around 5 pm they left around midnight with bags with potential evidence.

Miller did not know Ruth well, but remembered working to raise funds for a scout boy.

No one answered the door at home on Thursday.

“We have to do better as a society,” said governor Josh Shapiro on Wednesday night. “We need to help people who think that lifting a gun, lifting a weapon is the answer to resolve disputes.”

It was one of the state’s most deadly days for law enforcement this century, corresponding to the fee of day in 2009, when three officers were planted by a suspect in domestic violence with a bulletproof vest.

The confrontation unfolded along a rural road in the southern Central Pennsylvania, not far from Maryland. About 30 police vehicles blocked the roads bordering on barns, goat farm and soybeans and corn fields.

The area, North Codor, is about 75 kilometers north of Baltimore.

“It’s weird to go this time now and see all these cars and know what happened here,” said Brian Rice, who lives nearby and regularly walks on the road with his wife. He said he was still trying on Thursday from the news.

Another officer was killed in York County in February, when a man armed with a gun and zip ties entered into an intensive hospital treatment ward and took employees of staff in hostage before a shootout, who left both the man and an officer.
