‘Stressed out’ Amazon delivery driver dumps 80 packages in wooded area: police

Ann Amazon Delivery Driver dumped about 80 packages in a wooded area in Massachusetts just days before the holidays, police say.

The Lakeville Police Department said one of his sergeants discovered the unattended items early Sunday morning while on routine patrol.

“Upon further investigation, Sergeant Sean Robert determined that it was three large bags filled with Amazon packages that were scattered several feet into the woods,” the statement said. “Police officers loaded the bags onto a pickup truck and drove them back to the Lakeville Police Department, where they described approximately 80 packages.”

An Amazon delivery driver then visited the police department the next day and “reported that they left the packages on the side of the road around 7:00 p.m. Saturday because they were stressed,” according to authorities.

The incident comes as Teamster drivers expanded their strike against Amazon after the company’s “repeated refusal to follow the law and bargain.”

The union claims Amazon ignored a Dec. 15 deadline to negotiate new contracts for higher wages, better benefits and safer working conditions.

However, Amazon stood firm, insisting they had no intention of sitting down with the Teamsters because, in their words, they “do not represent Amazon employees.”
