Preview to Miami Dolphins @ Buffalo Bills
Only Friday 3, but Miami Dolphins Mike McDaniel can be considered coaching for his work on Thursday night football.
The dolphins make the heartbreaking journey to the New York states to face their AFC East Rivals Buffalo Bills after having a very disappointing start for the season. With humiliating losses for Indianapolis Colts in week 1 followed by a defeat to New England Patriots in their home opener, the dolphins are in a 0-2 hole.
That beginning put McDaniel under enormous pressure, with some unfinished appearances in the podium of the press conference after those losses that do not help public perception around McDaniel.
Asked about his team’s final possession in their 33-27 defeat to the Patriots, McDaniel offered a confused assessment.
“That’s kind of where the frustration is to me is that he wasn’t deciding (the call of the play) that costs us, or a late play call, which this happens at times,” McDaniel said. “But this was not one of those times. I found the call of games, but I need to do a better job to monitor orchestration within our multiple staff groups.
“To win the games, you have to win the game and not lose the game, honestly. And it’s how to lose the game. You’re moving the ball down the pitch, you’re the first and 10th and then you find yourself in the second and 20. This was critical.”
The dolphins playing win – or not losing – in the buffalo look thinner.
Indeed, the bills confirmed their credentials as Super Bowl favorites in the first two weeks of the season, dramatically turning a 15-point deficit in a 41-40 win over the Baltimore Ravens in the Opener before setting aside New York jets week 2.
While the Quarterback Dolphin Tua Tagovailoa have already put three interceptions, the signal of the Josh Allen bill has yet to turn the ball, and the reigning MVP will be expected to spend a defense of Miami that surrendered 751 yards in the first two games.
However Allen is wary of the aggressive nature of Miami’s defense.
“Their front there is full of many guys who can get behind the quarterback,” Allen said. “So, we got to be on our p and we mean what they will try to do with us.
“They are quite unpredictable in terms of when and where they are being announced. So, make sure I see as much as I can, see as much movie as I can try to take sources and things.”
On the defensive side for Buffalo, the bills will have to cope without Ed Oliver’s defensive address and Matt Milan Linebacker, both of which were excluded.
Dolphins will hope that those blows for two major players in the buffalo defense spine can help level play conditions in what seems to be obvious. If not, Miami may soon be looking for a new leading coach.
Forecast for Miami Dolphins @ Buffalo Bills
Things probably don’t get better for McDaniel on time. The gap between Allen and Tagovailoa is too vast and the difference in the level of defense games too clear for dolphins to be competitive on the road in Buffalo.
Forecast: Dolphins 13-31 Bills
