Manchester United submit an offer for Newcastle Target Sesko

Manchester United finally made their movement and submitted a formal offer for RB striker Leipzig Benjamin Sesko.

Multiple reports This midday suggests United offered £ 65.2million with another £ 8.6m in add-ons to overcome competition from Newcastle for 22 years.

Leipzig have yet to respond but it may be significant that United were intended to wait on the green light from the player before they approach the Bundesliga Club.

Earlier, it was reported that Newcastle had submitted an improved offer after They see their initial offer of £ 65.3m, plus £ 4.4m in ADD-ons rejected.

The ball is now in Leipzig’s court although it may be the player’s desire to test himself in the Premier League is considered.

Why are Manchester United and Newcastle targeting Sesko?

The Slovenian only joined Leipzig from the Red Bull Salzburg in 2023. Since then, he has recorded 39 goals and eight assistance in 87 appearances.

Last year, he signed an extension of the contract by 2029. While the agreement does not include a formal release clause, there is a gentleman agreement that Leipzig does not block a move if the project and the right sports offer come together.

Sesko’s previous contract contained a release clause of € 65 million.

On the international stage, Sesko has already become Talisman for Slovenia. He made his senior debut a day after he turned 18 and continued to earn 41 caps, scoring 16 goals. He was part of his country’s squad in Euro 2024.

The attacker continues

If Sesko chooses Old Trafford on St James’ Park, it may continue to complicate the Liverpool movement for Alexander ISAK.

The Premier League champions saw an offer for ISAK rejected last week and So far they have resisted the temptation to go back with a higher offer.

But if Newcastle had replaced the quality of Sesko, you could convince them to pay on a player who made it clear that he would like to join Liverpool.

From a united point of view, Sesko would bring a much needed focus for their attack.

Rasmus Hojlund seemed strong in the pre-season but his 14-goal record in the 62 Premier League appearances shows his struggles since joining Atalanta.

United have signed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo this summer but both operate in most nine number.
