Forest up to second while Wolves salvage a point at Spurs

Nottingham Forest moved up to second in the table with a 2-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park in one of four kick-offs on Sunday at 3pm in the Premier League.

Goals from Chris Wood and Morgan Gibbs-White gave Forest victory as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side move two points clear of Arsenal with the Gunners not playing until New Year’s Day.

It completes what has been a hugely impressive second half of the year for the Espirito Santo side, who travel to struggling Wolves on January 6.

At the other end of the table, Tyler Dibling scored the first goal of the Ivan Juric era as Southampton took an early lead in their game with Crystal Palace.

However, Trevoh Chalobah equalized on the half hour mark before Eberechi Eze completed the comeback in the 52nd minute.

The result keeps the Saints rooted to the bottom of the league, while Palace move to within two points of Manchester United in 14th place.

At the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Spurs and Wolves played out a memorable 2-2 draw, with Jorgen Strand Larsen grabbing the equalizer in the 87th minute for the visitors.

Hwang Hee-Chan gave Wolves an early lead only for Rodrigo Bentancur and Brennan Johnson to equalize before half-time.

Ange Postecoglou’s recent frustrations were compounded when Strand Larsen equalized with three minutes remaining in the 90th minute.

A few miles across town at Craven Cottage, Fulham and Bournemouth also played out a four-goal stalemate.

On the back of an impressive win at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day, Raul Jimenez and Harry Wilson scored for Marco Silva’s side.

But the Cherries hit back every time they went behind, with Evanilson and Dango Ouatarra earning a point for Andoni Iraola’s side.
