Eberechi Eze will not be involved when Crystal Palace try to extend their unbeaten Premier League run to six games at Arsenal on Saturday (5.30pm GMT).
Eagles manager Oliver Glasner will rest Eze after picking up a foot injury in Palace’s 3-1 win at Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, although the Austrian hopes the England international returning for the trip to Bournemouth on 26th December (3pm).
“He got a hit against Brighton,” explained Glasner, adding that Eze “got the next kick” on injury during Palace’s 3-2 defeat at Arsenal in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup. on Wednesday.
“It doesn’t look serious, but when you have to wear the boots, you catch the ball and it’s painful, it’s not so free in terms of movement.”

Eberechi Eze injuries
Eze missed trips to Wolves and Aston Villa either side of a home game against Fulham due to a hamstring injury in November.
The 26-year-old is yet to complete 90 minutes in five games since his return, although he set up Jean-Philippe Mateta for the only goal of the game at Ipswich Town on 3 December.
“When you always feel pain when you move, you’re thinking too much about it (injury) and you can’t play the way you can play,” said Glasner.
“We need every player 100% so it makes sense: we decided to rest him and hopefully he will be available for Bournemouth.
“We need the best Eberechi Eze can be and so he has to be as good as all the other players. I expect Ebere to be available for Bournemouth.”

Palace vs Arsenal
Palace went ahead on Arsenal on 49 minutes through Mateta’s opener, only for a Gabriel Jesus hat-trick on 28 minutes after the break to render Eddie Nketiah’s late response inconsequential.
“Confidence is when you take the lead, not to wait, (but to) also go forward and try to score second,” Glasner said. “We scored first and then we became passive.
“Then we are 3-1 down – game over, it’s like – and suddenly we play much further forward and we scored a second.
“Why don’t we always play the same way? The same style, playing forward instead of cautiously. But that is easy to say. I think everyone knows and has great respect for Arsenal who play at the Emirates.
“Sometimes you have confidence, but they create so much pressure… you have to live up to this pressure.”
