Miami Dolphins’ starting corner, Kader Kohou, will lose the whole of the season 2025-26 After suffering a knee injury during the team’s practice last Saturday, according to Marcel Louis-Jacques of the ESPN.
Kohou is the second member of Miami’s secondary to an injury ending the season in the last seven days. Last week, Cornerback Artie Burns was excluded for the 2025-26 campaign after breaking his ACL. Also, Safety Ashtyn Davis “Will Miss Time” Due to a non-contact foot injury.
“You have seen a different level (this summer),” said lead coach Mike McDaniel. “The time of this-I was crushed until I talked to Kader, and honestly, Kader made me feel a little better, just from his mindset. You don’t know the whys all the time when things happen, and I am concerned for guys who get stuck in that world of fixation for ‘missed opportunities.’ It guarantees that I will return better. “This is the way you approach both the football game and life.”
Kader Kohou joined the Miami dolphin in 2022 as an unsigned free agent. Since entering the NFL, he has appeared in 47 games. Last season was undoubtedly the best of Kohou after recording two interceptions, eight step deflections, and a forced fumble at nine beginning.
Dolphin secondary is screwed
Damaged by Kohou, the dolphins will open the season 2025-26 without any secondary starters from last year. They traded Jalen Ramsey to Steelers, let Jevon Holland move to the agency for free, and came out Kendall Fuller. Meanwhile, Jordan Poyer remains unsigned as a free agent.
I have never seen this team decimate around the board at all positions following defensive. First, they lost Artie Burns, which was signed for a one-year-old contract. In all likelihood, he had competed for one of the places of the beginning corner. Now, Kohou has also gone, which means that Mike Hilton-that the dolphins signed two days ago-will probably be the corner of the start of the team. Ashtyn Davis is expected to lose some time (all that means), so the rookie of the fifth rounder Dante Trader JR will probably have to add and be a starter in his absence. I doubt it was the plan for him when he was originally drafted.
From a defensive post, this was out of the disastrous season for Miami. They get rid of their best cornerback for the best flight security at Minkah Fitzpatrick. Although he is a Pro Bowl caliber player, a good corner is more precious to defensive gaming plans than has elite security. The best level cornerback can sometimes eliminate a full side of the field if it is good enough. This is almost never the case when it comes to security.
Dolphin fans should be very concerned about the team’s defensive ability to enter this season. One of the biggest reasons why they could remain competitive last year, even without Tua Tagovailoa, was due to the defense, which was ninth in the yards to pass permits and the yards of the allowed run. This season, though, they expect a lot more yards, especially in the air.
It should also be noted that the phins were one of the worst championship teams when it came to forcing the turnover. They were 27 in the takeaways and tied for 22 in the interceptions. With this number of recent injuries, interceptions will be even more difficult to come this season in South Florida.
Mike McDaniel will have to put a coaching masterclass if he wants his team to return to playoffs for the first time since January 2024. McDaniel needs to scheme some impressive offensive calls to keep Miami competitive because they will have many issues on the defensive side of the ball during the 2025-26 campaign.
