Detroit Lions @ Baltimore Ravens: Preview, forecasts and Odds

Preview for Detroit Lions @ Baltimore Ravens

Detroit Lions lead coach Dan Campbell is still smart since his team’s last visit to Baltimore, despite being two years ago.

On that occasion, the Lions were blown 38-6 after a bad start, and Campbell remembers it well.

“Don’t forget those,” said Campbell Through the Lions website-“We didn’t give ourselves a chance. By the end of the first quarter, we were wrong.

“The environment, the opponent, most of our men saw them close, in real time. If you didn’t have an idea, you now have a real good idea what you are coming.”

The Lions will not be short of confidence after a 52-21 emphasis victory over the Chicago Bears last week and Campbell is excited about the challenge of waiting for his team on MNF.

“Team rugged, tough players, disciplined, really good,” Campbell said. “We respect what they are about. We are looking forward to this, taking place in Monday evening. This will be fun. This is one of those, this is why you do it.”

The biggest threat to the Lions comes in the obvious form of Quarterback Ravens Lamar Jackson.

Jackson has a 24-2 record against teams from the NFC and was the architect of that victory in 2023 after giving 357 yards and three touchdowns.

He also has a 7-2 record at Monday evening games.

“He is a smart player. It starts with this. He sees the pitch really good,” said lead coach Ravens John Harbaugh. “I think he is a disciplined player in the sense that he simply does not throw the ball random in areas. He wants to see what he has. That’s what I think; probably, that’s the main thing.

“He sees the pitch well, and he processes the game really good, so he doesn’t fool too often. He’s not throwing right in people often-that’s hard. It happens all the time, but you don’t see that happen too often with Lamar. So, (that) just part of being a really good quarterback.”
