“All the answers will be revealed,” Chestnut, 32, said exclusively Us Weekly while promoting his holiday film, Mistletoe & Weddingwhich premiered on December 14.
The actress who plays Dr. Naomi Howard Chicago Medstated that viewers will definitely know what happened to Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) on the show’s return on Wednesday, January 8.
In the midseason finale, which was broadcast on November 20Goodwin found out who her stalker was when she was cornered in the office. During their altercation, Goodwin was stabbed and began to bleed. However, after hearing Dr. Dean Archer (Steven Weber) outside his office door, he made a last ditch effort to break free.
As the elevator door began to close, Archer saw a bloodied Goodwin exit the room and scream for help as the assailant came after her. The episode ended with Archer trying to go back to help his old friend and leader.
“As I was reading it, I was like, ‘No, what’s going to happen?'” Chestnut recalled. We to learn about Goodwin’s traumatic moments in the episode. “I’m literally on the edge of my seat asking for advanced copies of the scripts and they say, ‘No.'”

Even if the chestnut has not arrived see the scripts earlyhe said We they were already filming episode 14, so he knows what’s going on. “All the answers will emerge soon,” he repeated.
The TV star also teased: “There’s a lot more Naomi in that look. I’m trying to be vague, but there’s a lot more Naomi.”
Chestnut played coy about how he might be involved in Naomi Goodwin’s storyline, but revealed that her character will get more screen time in the second half of the season. (Castnut joined Naomi as a medical student at the end of Season 9 and has since become a recurring character.)
“I can tease that there will be some real drama involving Dr. Naomi Archer and other characters outside of Dr. Lenox (Sarah Ramos), he said. “Those are Naomi’s people, (but) there’s going to be some drama outside of those two.”

Since then becoming part of the EDNaomi has worked closely with Archer and Lenox until the midseason finale when they split the duties of managing the emergency department. At that point, Goodwin named Lenox (who was a new employee this year) as sole leader.
It’s the personnel change that led Archer to approach Goodwin’s office as he planned to resign in the November episode.
Naomi, for her part, has been stuck in the middle of Lenox and Archer all season ED run successfully. According to Chestnuts, that push and pull won’t completely go away when the show returns.
“I’m (still) between Lenox and Dr. Archer. There’s a little bit more to that,” he shared. “And you get to see a little more of the relationship between Dr. Lenox and Naomi.”
