Ali Fedotowsky reveals that it was the late bachelor who inspired her vegetarian diet

Ali Fedotowsky he is choosing to pay tribute late graduate competitor Gia Allemand through his dietary habits.

Fedotowsky, 40, explained Monday, Dec. 23 Kaitlyn Bristowe‘s “Out of the Vineyard” podcast that she was “so sick” while hosting a travel show called First Look and eating different cuisines. While at an event graduate In New York, Fedotowsky began discussing his struggles with Allemand.

“I tell him how I feel, he says, ‘You should try being a pescetarian. I’ve been a pescetarian for years. I feel great.’ We have this dinner, and then 10 days later, he dies.”

After appearing on Jake Pavelka‘s Season 14 graduate Together with Fedotowsky in 2010, Allemand committed suicide at the age of 29 in 2013.

“After that, I thought, ‘Oh, I’m going to be pescetarian for two weeks,’ like that dinner we had,” Fedotowsky said. “And when that happened, every time I went to get a bite of meat, or think about it, I couldn’t because I thought about Gia.”

Fedotowsky continued, “I haven’t had a single bite of meat since that dinner I had with him, 14 years ago, 13 years ago, and I’ve been a vegetarian ever since.”

The Former High School he explained that he “hadn’t fully told that story” until now. “I’ve said it like I said, briefly in an Instagram story here or there, but that’s the reason for today,” he said.

Fedotowsky, who married Kevin Manno In 2017, she revealed that her husband had eliminated meat from his diet as well. (Fedotowsky and Manno, 41, share daughter Molly, 8, and son Riley, 6.)

“My husband, he was a meat eater when I first met him, and then we watched some documentaries, and at that point he went straight to vegan,” she said. “Now, there isn’t, because we live in the south and it’s harder to find things.”

While reminiscing about her friendship with Allemand, Fedotowsky explained that the pair reconnected after the show.

“Honestly, we think about it a little bit graduatebut then she got back together after anything which says more about the kind of person she is,” Fedotowsky said, calling Allemand “so beautiful.”
