Arteta “disappointed” with Manchester City’s hike but defending the team’s choice

Arsenal’s chief coach Mikel Arteta admits he is disappointed that he sees his side only one point against the rivals of the title Manchester City.

But the Spaniard made a point to state that he is proud of his players regardless of the result he saw the Gunners lose the land for the establishment of Liverpool’s early step.

Erling Haaland put City ahead in the first half, running away from William Saliba and slotting after David Raya, before Gabriel Martinelli scored a dramatic stop to ensure that the points were damaged.

Arteta was criticized for choosing his team before the game, deployed three central defensive midfielders who gave City the initiative.

But the changes in half-time that included Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze changed the tide, with Arsenal eventually getting the Poitn they deserved.

Speaking after the game, Arteta said: “Regardless of the result I say the same thing. I am very proud of the team and players for the way we played and dominated this game against this city city. For my part as a coach who requires compliments on my part as a coach.

“After that, very disappointed with the result. It is true that the score will finally give you a little emotion, a bit of taste, but then I think the first thought for me was to win the game.”

“Everyone will analyze the game differently. I think we have done a lot of good things, very well in order to get the game for that state. Obviously every coach has to do the right thing to win the game.”
