President Donald Trump has called on a senior law enforcement officer, Prosecutor General Pam Bondi, to explore his political adversaries more aggressively.
In a social media publication, addressed directly to Bondi, he said, “We can’t slow down, it kills our reputation and trust.”
Trump expressed dissatisfaction that “nothing is done” before calling Bondi to investigate the former FBI Director James Komi, New York Prosecutor James James, and Democratic Adam Schiff Senator, who was leading his first impeachment process.
Shortly afterwards, he published again to praise Bondi, who said he was “doing a great job”.
“I reviewed over 30 statements and publications, saying that in essence,” the same old story as last time, all fairy tales, without action. Nothing is done. How about Komi, Adam “Shifty” Schiff, Leticia ??? Everyone is guilty of hell, but nothing will be done, “Trump said on Saturday.
His statement was criticized by the Democrats, including Senate Minority leader Chuck Sumer, who said “this is the way to dictatorship.”
“The Ministry of Justice has always been a very, very strong civil service, no matter who was responsible, Democrat or Republican. They went after violators of the law without fear or favor,” he told CNN on Sunday.
“He turns him into an instrument that goes after his enemies, whether they are guilty or not,” he told the president.
Asked about his comments on Sunday, Trump said, “They have to act. They must act quickly.”
“I think Pam Bondi will go down as one of the best generals of a lawyer’s lawyer,” he said.
President’s post came the day after Federal Prosecutor Eric Sibert left his post after Trump said he wanted him to resign For failing to pursue New York Prosecutor General James for allegations of mortgage fraud.
The New York Times has announced that Sibert has told senior officials of the Ministry of Justice that their investigations have not found enough evidence to chase James.
James, a Democrat who won a civil fraud case against Trump in 2023, denied allegations of mortgage fraud as “unfounded” and motivated by “revenge”.
On Saturday, Trump said Sibert was fired and did not give up. “I fired it and there is a great case, and many lawyers and legal specialists, they say so,” he said.
Trump also praised Bondi and said he had nominated a Sibert replacement.
“She is very careful, very smart, loves our country, but she needs a difficult prosecutor in the Eastern district of Virginia, like my recommendation Lindsay Haligan to move things,” he said.
During his election campaign, Trump promised to seek revenge against many of his political enemies – including former President Joe Biden – others who opposed him.
He canceled security authorizations – allowing people to have access to classified materials – several employees, including James and Manhattan District Prosecutor Alvin Bragg, who brought the criminal money case, Money -Money,
He has fired several prosecutors who worked for a special lawyer Jack Smith in two criminal studies against him. He has also taken action against law firms with lawyers who have participated in investigations into charges against him, including the company where former special lawyer Robert Mueller has hired.
