Report, result and goals as Ekitike Bags winning in Derby

Liverpool extended their dominance into the Merseyside derby with a 2-1 win over Everton at Anfield, although they were made for sweating after the stunning strike of Hydrissa Geye set up a tension final.

The side of the house was in control for large bands, with Ryan Gravenberch proving the difference in both pitch halves.

First, the Dutch midfielder produced a clinical finish to open the score, and then provided the ball through Hugo Ekitike to double the Liverpool advantage before the half-hour mark.

Everton, who offered a little threat in the opening of 45 minutes, fought back after rest and gave themselves a line of life through Gueye’s strong effort, but finally left again empty.

Gravenberch makes his mark

Everton started the match with a lot of energy, pressing high and used Jack Grealish as a shop on the left.

However their strong start quickly faded, and Liverpool punished them with their first chance in the 10th minute. Mohamed Salah, who cut off from the right, whipped on a teasing cross that grabbed Gravenberch near the penalty place.

With one contact, the midfielder guided the ball beyond Jordan Pickford and in the lower corner, sparking Raucous celebrations in the cop.

The goal stopped the tone for the middle. The Salah movement has repeatedly found the visitors’ defense, and Everton were forced to engage in last ditch interventions by James Tarkowski and Vitaliy Mykolenko to keep the score manageable.

But Liverpool’s momentum was irresistible, and just before the half hour mark they doubled their advantage.

Again, Gravenberch was at the heart of the movement. Slide from a perfectly weighted step from the center, he carved the back line of Everton open to Ekitike, which had been selected in front of Alexander Isak.

The French striker showed an impressive composition, taking one touch before running a low shot in the lower left corner. It was the third goal of his Premier Championship of the campaign, and with a 2-0 cushion, Liverpool appeared to be stopped for the cruise.

Everton fights back

For most of the first section, the playing games of Everton was toothless. Beto cut an isolated figure in front, he could not test Alisson, while Dewsbury-Hall and Gueye struggled to get feet in midfield.

A couple of late corners offered hope, but Alisson treated them comfortably, ensuring that Liverpool reached the rest with a two-goal lead and their anfield record intact-they never lost a Premier League game when they led two in half-time.

Sean Dyche’s men, though, returned after the interval with more intention. Beto was withdrawn for Thierno Barry, and the fresh feet gave visitors a little more movement in the attack.

Still, chances were scarce until 58 minutes, when Everton suddenly found a breakthrough.

A cross from Grealish on the left caused panic in the Liverpool area. Iliman Ndiaye calmly stopped the ball, and Gueye came on the tying to stick a ferocious strike in the upper corner. Alisson had no chance.

Against the play of the games, Everton came back in it, and the momentum of the derby switched.

Nervy ends at Anfield

From that moment, Anfield grew. Visitors began to speed up long lifting and push the pitch, while Liverpool’s previous speed disappeared.

Pickford had to run out of his line to deny Salah as the third potential goal for the hosts, but the crowd of the house knew that one Everton strike could catch two points away.

As the clock marked down, Dyche introduced Carlos Alcaraz and the young man Tyler Dabling to inject more attacking drive.

The late volley of Grealish flew well on the bar, and despite being cast five substitutes, Everton could not find a dramatic equalizer.
