Everton manager David Moyes says Liverpool’s run of goals late this season is not a surprise as “the best sides wear you.”
Virgil Van Dijk’s headaches in the middle of the week gave Liverpool a victory over Atletico Madrid, and Arne Slot’s side scored late in their last five games.
Moyes, who takes his side Anfield on Saturday for derby MerseysideHe knows that his side is against this but is resting the challenge.
“The better sides tend to wear a little and change the concentration,” he said.
“For the most part we have shown resilience in defense so we will be looking to keep it.
“We are all aware (from their late goals), he was the same with (Sir Alex) Fergie, he was taking Fergie’s time and in the referee ear he said they needed to achieve more extra time and achieve late goals because his team kept preparing themselves to score and see the same with Liverpool.
“I think I was lying if I said yes, I had fun derby. It’s a lot easier if you’re with the team that has the strongest squad and I think they’re against it.
“We have to go there and fight for everything we can and be competitive and make sure we play where we showed signs of improvement and make sure we show that in the game.”
