The Wolves have secured the future of striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, who signed a new contract to keep him in Molineux by 2030, with another year’s choice.
The extension comes only months after the international Norway made its walk permanent from Celta Vigo, following a productive loan spell in which he scored 14 goals.
Its shape was enough to attract significant interest in the summer, with Wolves rejecting offers of £ 50m and £ 55m from Newcastle United.
Manager Vítor Pereira praised the news as a great boost for the club.
“It is very important-if we are to increase our level, if we are to give others a step to another level, we need this type of player.
“It’s not just tactical and technical, it’s about spirit and personality. It is very important for us and is very good news for us.”
Wolves paid £ 23m to sign ahead after the success of his loan, which helped the team avoid relegation by finishing 16 years in last season’s Premier League campaign.
Although this term remains to be seen in the tournament due to Achilles problem, the 25-year-old boy has twice made in the EFL Cup victory over West Ham before being set aside.
His return is long awaited as Wolves, which is still unbeaten and table bottom after four straight losses, prepared to face Leeds at Molineux this weekend.
Strand Larsen’s commitment also comes to Pereira’s back that Penning a new three-year agreement on Thursday.
The striker has been talking with the club since the summer, and his manager believes the deal comes at the perfect moment.
“Football is not about insurance, it’s about confidence, hard work, day after day. It’s about work, character and commitment.
“If you’re here and see the work every day, you can value someone’s work.”
