Loni Anderson, an actor in the hit show of the 1980s in Cincinnati, dead at 79


Loni Anderson, who played an empowered receptionist at the struggling radio station of the hit television comedy WKRP in CincinnatiHe died on Sunday, just days before his 80th birthday.

Anderson died at a hospital in Los Angeles after a long illness, said her longtime publicist Sheril J. Kagan.

“We are broken by the heart to announce the passage of our dear wife, mother and grandmother,” Anderson’s family said in a statement.

Anderson was born on August 5, 1945 in St. Paul, Min. Her father was an ecological chemist and her mother was a model.

Anderson survived Flick, daughter Deidre, son Quinton and two grandchildren.

A private family service is planned at the Hollywood cemetery forever, said publicist Kagan.
