Drones Ukrainian Attack prompts the Russian oil depot for fire as Zelenski announces the exchange of prisoners

The Ukrainian Drones’ attack on the night of the Russian Oil Department near the Black Sea resort of Russia in Sochi caused a great fire, Russian officials said on Sunday as the two countries traded strikes and the Ukrainian president announced an exchange of prisoners.

More than 120 firefighters tried to extinguish the explosion, ignited after debris from a drone, hit a fuel tank, said the regional governor of Krasnodar Venimine Kondratiev on Telegram. Social media videos have appeared to show huge smoke pillars that twist over the oil depot.

The Russian Civil Aviation Administration, Rosavia, temporarily stopped flights at Sochi Airport.

To the north, authorities in the Voronezh region report that four people were injured in another Ukrainian strike of drones.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said its air defense removed 93 Ukrainian drones over Russia and the Black Sea overnight on Sunday.

Russian strike in southern Ukraine

Meanwhile, in southern Ukraine, a Russian missile strike hit a residential area in the city of Mikolai, according to state -owned emergency services, injuring seven people.

The Ukrainian Air Force said on Sunday that Russia launched 76 drones and seven missiles against Ukraine. It says 60 drones and one rocket are intercepted, but 16 others and six rockets hit eight places.

Reciprocal attacks have ended one of the most deadly weeks in Ukraine in recent months after killing a Russian drone and rocket attacks on Thursdays, killing 31 people, including five children and wounds over 150.

They come when US President Donald Trump gave Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday – August 8 – for peaceful efforts to make progress.

Trump says he moves to the deadline that Putin gave over Ukraine

US President Donald Trump, appearing with the United Kingdom Prime Minister Keyer Starmer on Monday, told reporters that he would move with the end time he had set by Russian President Vladimir Putin over Ukraine, adding: “We just don’t see progress.”

Trump said on Thursday that Special Messenger Steve Vikof was heading to Russia to encourage Moscow to agree to the cessation of fire in his war with Ukraine and threatened new economic sanctions if no progress was made.

Ukraine and Russia agree to swap prisoners

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski said on Sunday that Ukraine and Russia have agreed to exchange 1,200 prisoners after their last round of negotiations in Istanbul in July.

“There is an exchange agreement for 1200 people,” he wrote to X, saying that the lists of people to be exchanged are being processed and that they are working to “unblock our civilians.”

There was no immediate comment from Russia.

Zelenski also said he had discussed with senior Ukrainian officials “the transfer negotiations, in particular the application of the agreements reached during meetings with the Russian side in Istanbul, as well as preparation for a new meeting.”

Each of the three rounds of conversations between the parties this year led to the exchange of prisoners, but did not break through when the fire was terminated.
